Why do I need SkyFi when other services such as Google Earth exist?

Google Earth doesn’t tell you when its pictures were taken, but we can tell you that much of the Google Earth data is several years old and may very well be out of date for the locations you are observing. Using SkyFi tells you exactly when an existing image was taken and gives you the power to choose when you would like an image taken in the future with our tasking product.

What is The SkyFi App and how does it work?

SkyFi is an easy-to-use mobile or desktop app that allows you to get satellite imagery of any place in the world at any given time. SkyFi is creating a marketplace for businesses and consumers alike to capture earth observation data to make better informed business decisions, capture life’s most precious memories, and more. The SkyFi App, thanks to its satellite partners, allows customers to either order a New Image, where a satellite in-orbit is ordered to capture an Area of Interest for a date in the future, or select an Existing Image from our database of hundreds of previously-captured images. The best part? This can all be done from your phone, tablet, or computer.

What is the difference between ordering a New Image vs. an Existing Image?

New Image orders are captured in near real-time by a satellite tasked with your desired time frame of a specific area, along with the resolution and sensor you've selected. Existing Images have been previously captured and are available in our extensive image archive.

How does your pricing work?

Pricing at SkyFi is based on several variables, such as the kilometer size of a chosen area, the sensors selected, and the type of resolution chosen. A single Existing Image starts at $20, and a single New Image starts at $175. The selected area size, sensors, and resolution options will determine the total cost.

How long do I have to wait to receive my image?

You can download an Existing Image within 24 hours of placing your order. New Images will be available for download 48 hours after the image is captured. You’ll receive an email when your order is ready for download.
